How much does a domain cost?
Domains vary in cost depending on a few different factors. In most cases, domains are purchased for two years. At the end of this period, you will be asked if you wish to renew the domain. Customers can pay for their domain by credit card or check.
Is the checkout process secure?
Yes, all information is securely encrypted. This makes it impossible for third parties to gain access to customer information.
Can I choose any domain name I want?
You can choose any available name as long as long as it is not deemed offensive. The name must not contain spaces and should be anywhere from three to 64 characters long. Also, make sure to choose a name carefully, because mistakes in domain names must be corrected within 48 hours of registering the name.
I purchased a domain name, but it still says that the domain is available. Is there a problem?
An international registration can take up to two days to process. If, after two days, the domain still appears to be available, contact customer service.
Why can’t I purchase an expired domain name?
When viewing the WHOIS records, the expiration date is the date that the domain is set to expire. However, once the domain expires, it will need to be deactivated and deleted from the system. If this has not occurred, the domain will not yet be available.
Can I transfer a domain name?
Yes, it is possible to transfer a domain name. Many people choose to do so to take advantage of lower prices.
How long will it take to transfer a domain name?
If can take around 20 days to complete a transfer. When transferring a domain name, the administrative contact of the domain will be e-mailed to verify the transfer. Once you accept the transfer and send a copy of your ID or passport, your current registrar will be asked to transfer the domain. They will have five days to either transfer the domain or deny the request.
What do the different extensions mean? Which should I choose for my domain?
.com is the most commonly used extension and stands for commercial. Personal and business websites generally use this extension. Personal websites may also use the .info extension if the website is informational in nature. The .biz extension is used for businesses and .org is usually used by nonprofit organizations.
How can I check if my domain is registered to me? What if the information is not correct?
You may check the WHOIS database to see if your domain name has been registered. This may take up to 24 hours after first registering the domain name. If the information is incorrect after 24 hours, contact customer service.
